Jake is the Jarty version of Nate, used as a character to represent the average user of the site or as a general mascot.
He is a character created by the Jarty to serve as a mascot for its average user to be depicted as. The idea obviously comes down to just being a copy of Nate who already serves the same purpose for the sharty, so his design is also just a recolor of Nate with blue replacing the red. The name 'Jake' is probably based on the words "Jarty" and "Nate". Likewise, he is able to be represented by many different variants of soyjaks like his other counterparts. He is also notable for being the first Natejak created by a splinter.

Despite this, most of Jake's popularity comes from being depicted as a Jartycuck. Due to the sharty's hostility to the jarty, he is represented much more negatively as a brown slopjak that goons to Soytan and 'p. In fact, this version is much more popular than his original self, with most posts tagged as 'Jake' on the booru depicting a Jartycuck instead of the original. This is also how he is depicted in most of the Soysphere in general, with a good amount of Soyteens not even knowing about the name "Jake".
