Sheeeit, also known as Tyrone, is an MS Paint meme depicting a stereotypical African-American shouting the word "SHHHHHEEEEEEEEIIIITT". It is primarily used in 4-panel comics by racist chudcels on 4chan.
Origin[edit | edit source]
The phrase originated as Sheeeeee-it, a distinct catchphrase of actor Isiah Whitlock, Jr., who would use it most prominently on the TV series The Wire. Whitlock is African-American, and The Wire's majority-black cast gave the catchphrase an association with African-American culture.
The original post depicting the character Tyrone saying "Sheeeit" is unknown despite many attributing its creation to 4chan's /pol/ board, but the oldest example still online was posted on October 22nd, 2012, by MemeCenter user sun. The MS Paint comic depicting the character in the last frame of a four-panel comic received 30 likes in eight years.
Shortly after the post to MemeCenter, on October 27, 2012, the Sheeeeit Facebook group was created featuring the character's face, which accumulated over 1,300 likes and followers in eight years.
